  • Antibacterials
  • Coal tar colors: FD&C Blue1, and Green3
  • Diethanolamine (DEA)
  • 1,4-Diozane (present in sodium laureth sulfate and other ingredients ending in “–eth”)
  • Formaldehyde (from urea-based and quaternium preservatives)
  • Fragrance
  • Hydroquinone
  • Mercury and lead (mercury is present is some mascaras)
  • Nanoparticles
  • Parabens
  • Petroleum distillates, and Phenylenediamine (PPD)
